Longs Peak From Timberline Longs Peak in the far backgrond. Taken at sunrise just above timberline, about 2 hours into the hike.

We started hiking from  the parking area at 4:40 am.

Longs Peak From Bottom of the Boulder Field


Longs Peak from below the Boulder Field.

This is basically behind the ridge seen on the far right in the picture above.

Straight above Adam's elbow (the far right) look for the little notch to the left of the V. This is the Keyhole that we will go through.

At the Boulder Field.

The Keyhole is the notch in the center of the picture.

If you look closely you can see a rock shelter house just below and to the left of the Keyhole (a bullet shaped structure with two windows).
